Valour and Worship - Ragas Arabhi and Devagandhari
Isai Payanam with Charulatha Mani:
Discussion on Arabhi vs. Devagandhari in 'Sindhu Bhairavi' film:
The Judge (TS Raghavendar) is called out by his chauffeur (Kavithalayaa Krishnan) for humming a phrase mistakenly in Devagandhari, thinking it to be Arabhi. If you have been living under a rock the last four decades, or were too young to have watched this Balachander film, watch it now!

Namaskaram,
ReplyDeleteWish to highlight that Indru Namadhullamey pongum pudhu vellamey ( Thanga Padhumai ) also is another Arabhi based composition only by tht MSV-TKR in 1959. Can you please explore this song's beauty please.
"Indru Namadhu ulllame" is a beautiful piece in Arabhi..the phrase "RMPD,P M,GRSND" bringing out the raga's flavour. Thank you for pointing out this song from "Thanga padhumai"..
