    Hello Charulatha,

    I chanced upon your Isai Payanam 2 program on YouTube. It is an outstanding performance! Now, I am able to identify so many compositions as well as film songs in Anandabhairavi and Kalyani ragas.

    I have a suggestion. Your presentation of many of the old Tamil songs based on these ragas are so better than what was originally presented. Please release a version of these songs keeping the lyrics intact, shone of the filmy tune and set to pure Carnatic style. I am sure that there will be many takers for it. I will be the first one.

Bhairavi Swarajati - Amba Kamakshi

Creating this recording and the video was a spiritual experience for me. Raga Bhairavi has magical powers and envelopes the soul. This kriti "Amba Kamakshi" was composed on the goddess at Kanchi "Kamakshi" by the great Shyama Sastri. This kriti is a call of the child's soul to the divine mother "Amba". Each and every person can relate to this call to the divine, this I truly believe. I dedicate this video and kriti to Kanchi Kamakshi Ambal, Sri Mahaperiyava and Shyama Sastri.
